When thinking about my blogs I thought what would I have found useful to read about when I started living a healthy lifestyle? One of the first topics that came to mind was blogging about healthy ingredients. I have discovered so many different ingredients that one I had never heard of and two didn’t know the health benefits, how to use them and why to use them for a healthy lifestyle.
If you have my healthy eBook you will notice that I use Himalayan salt (pink rock) instead of common table salt (white). Why?
Himalayan salt is far superior to traditional iodized salt. Himalayan salt contains the same 84 natural minerals and elements found in the human body and has a range of health benefits that I will go into shortly.
When starting to research and explore a healthier lifestyle I was totally unaware that common table salt contains chemicals even sugar! Salt is necessary but can be dangerous if taken in this chemical form.
Table salt is composed mostly of sodium chloride and a small percentage of chemicals like iodine and absorbents and sugar. The table and cooking salt found in all of our homes, restaurants and processed foods is basically of no nutritional value as it lacks beneficial trace minerals. Processing salt turns into sodium chloride, an unnatural salt the human body actually sees as a toxic invader! The body cannot dispose of it in a natural, healthy way which can lead to irritation of the tissues, water retention and high blood pressure.
So what are the health benefits of using natural Himalayan salt? Benefits may include:

* Increases hydration
* Regulate water content both inside and outside of cells
* Balance pH (alkaline/acidity) and help to reduce acid reflux
* Prevent muscle cramping
